Life is’nt easy! keep your head up and keep going!

My hope is to provide foundational tools to allow people to change their physical and emotional lives.

I grew up in Lambeth, a small village just outside of London Ontario. It gave you a truly great experience of feeling you belong, of being known by your direct neighbors and by others in the village who believed whole heartedly in looking out for each other.

When I was 18 months old it became clear that my hip socket had not formed enough around the ball joints and so I could not crawl or stand up properly and had to pull my body across the floor using my elbows and arms.  While my arms, had become very strong, the doctors wanted to use surgery to intervene so that they could build up my hip socket and strengthen my hip flexors. The doctors put me in a body cast to stabilize my hip sockets with the hope that they could continue to form and grow stronger.

At three years of age when the last of many casts were finally removed, we discovered that I also had a form of spastic cerebral palsy that made it difficult for me to stretch and control some of my motor movements.  My father accompanied me to many years of physio-therapy and supported me to keep up all of my exercises at home. Both of my parents would take me to recreational pursuits that were beneficial and that supported me to work on my balance, co-ordination and leg strength. Throughout my elementary years. I went regularly to aqua-therapy, track-three downhill skiing, and therapeutic horseback riding to keep up my fitness and mobility.

My journey with cerebral palsy continued with surgeries. While still in public school, I had an operation on my right ankle to correct an issue with my foot turning in. At the end of public school, my left hip started dislocating which required a surgery to fix the hip joint, another surgery was required to remove the hardware that was installed which was causing issues with a tendon.

After college I began working in computer technology which was something I had a natural gift for and loved.  I would describe my life as rich and exciting. We travelled and I did all kinds of things that I may not have thought possible as a child. Although becoming a computer nerd required me to do a lot of sitting, I have had to keep up with my daily regimen of exercise and stretching. This was not only helpful at building up my body but also at keeping my spasticity in check. It gave me a sense of taking charge of my health.

In June of 2014, I had just turned 44, I faced one of the biggest setbacks in my life. I was helping a co- worker move a heavy box from a counter down to a cart with one hand and I herniated one of the lumbar disks in my lower back.  Since that fateful day, I have been put through eight back surgeries including a laminectomy, an emergency irrigation of a major infection in the incision, fusions, surgeries to replace failed hardware and possibly more yet to come.

Needless to say, I have had to deal with pain.

In November of 2023, during a long year and a half battle to get my job back, My dog Zoey and I sat in the dark of the early morning and I made a decision that I would keep living.

This is what started my journey in January of 2024 to finding ways to confront and deal with my pain. I have experimented with all kinds of healing methods and remedies. I have researced hundreds of YouTube videos and articles to find solutions such as relaxation either with meditation or in nature or a combination of both. Stretching, stretching and more stretching. I learned the power of proper breathing. The power of the I Am, using the science of Metaphysics and Spirituality. I have also found pain relief from Cannabidiol oil (CBD oil) and THC.

I know what it is like to try to find ways out of pain and if I can shorten that search for anyone it will have been worthwhile.

Never give up! Keep looking for relief! and most of all…
